We thought it might be helpful to provide some definitions below.

What is Business Process Transformation?

Business process transformation involves radically changing your processes to achieve business objectives. Commonly, these new goals focus on reducing costs, improving customer experience and/or speeding processes, just to name a few. Business process transformation is part of the larger concept of business process management (BPM) which includes Business Process Redesign (BPR).

What is Business Process Re-Engineering?

Business Process Re-engineering is a business management strategy, originally pioneered in the early 1990s, focusing on the analysis and design of workflows and business processes within an organization. BPR aims to help organizations fundamentally rethink how they do their work in order to improve customer service, cut operational costs, and become world-class competitors.

What is Business Process Management and Workflow?

Business Process Management (BPM) and the term “Workflow” are often used interchangeably.  BPM/Workflow describes the automation of business processes using people (Change management and education), process (Business Process Redesign – BPR) and technology (workflow and BPM process automation tools) to achieve business process transformation. Typically BPM is a combination of methodologies and software leveraged to drive the change.

What is Robotic Process Automation?

Robotic Process Automation (RPA) can be used as a component of BPM to automate interactions with systems that would normally be completed by personnel in the process. Sometimes RPA is referred to as robots or bots that use business rules and screen or system automation to reduce or eliminate the need for human interaction for certain tasks in a process.
